Dubai Startup Hub, GoDaddy organise joint workshop to help entrepreneurs build an online presence

DUBAI: Dubai Startup Hub, an initiative of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recently organised a workshop in collaboration with GoDaddy that provided startups, entrepreneurs and small business owners in Dubai with practical tips for building an online presence.

GoDaddy’s pilot “Digital Me” workshop was attended by Dubai Startup Hub Members who learned how to build their own website and take their businesses online within one day.

The digital training session was led by Selina Bieber, Regional Director for MENA and Turkey at GoDaddy, who explained the importance of a strong, professional digital identity for businesses specific to the local market.

The curriculum covered topics including: what is an online presence; why it is necessary; what advantages and benefits it can provide small businesses; and, how you can create an effective website. During the training, all participants built and published their own website using GoDaddy Website Builder.

Natalia Sycheva, Manager of Entrepreneurship at Dubai Chamber of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, explained that the

workshop supported Dubai Startup Hub’s efforts to provide startups and entrepreneurs with valuable knowledge and useful tools they need to get their businesses off the ground, adding the practical tips offered in the workshop were designed to enhance business competitiveness.

“In today’s technology-driven business world it is imperative that entrepreneurs and small businesses create their digital corporate identity and we stand committed to providing all the know-how and skills needed by entrepreneurs to sustain and grow,” said Sycheva, adding that the workshop succeeded in meeting these objectives.

Selina Bieber, Regional Director for MENA and Turkey at GoDaddy said the workshop aimed to raise the of digital literacy align with Dubai Startup Hub’s objectives, by providing both the knowledge and tools necessary for people to create and manage their venture online.

“Through hands-on education and training, the entrepreneurs who attended our workshop now have a better understanding of why and how to create a website, benefits of being online, and how they can use these tools to more effectively help grow their businesses,” said Bieber.

Dubai Chamber launched Dubai Startup Hub in 2016 as an online platform to connect startups, entrepreneurs, developers, venture capitalists and students, enabling them to learn about new opportunities and create new partnerships that stimulate economic growth. News Desk
