DUBAI: Dubai-based Danube Properties today announces its alliance with Johnson Controls – a global leader in energy efficiency, smart and sustainable building technologies, as part of its mission and in line with the UAE Government’s vision to deliver energy efficient, green, smart and sustainable development.

The alliance ensures all Danube Properties projects become energy efficient, green, smart and sustainable properties with the latest innovative technology products are built-in to offer greater user comfort that also reduces the energy usage and bills.

The buildings and buildings construction sectors combined are responsible for 36 percent of global final energy consumption and nearly 40 percent of total direct and indirect CO2 emissions, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

“Energy demand from buildings and buildings construction continues to rise, driven by improved access to energy in developing countries, greater ownership and use of energy-consuming devices, and rapid growth in global buildings floor area, at nearly 3 percent per year,” IEA says.

Danube Properties is rated amongst top 5 developers in the UAE and is known for its on timely delivery of exceptional quality assets with record sales success and its collaboration with Johnson Controls who believes in creating more productive and sustainable building environments will deliver a seamless customer experience.

A collaborative strategy towards promoting a comprehensive offering were discussed by Mr. Atif Rahman, Director and Partner of Danube Properties, Mr. Claude Allain, Vice President and General Manager for Johnson Controls, Middle East and Africa and Dr. Marcus Schumacher, Vice President and General Manager for Johnson Controls – GCC, along with the Johnson Controls Key Strategic Account Management team.

“Smart, green and sustainable development is part of our DNA and Danube Properties has been championing the development of affordable homes – to make homes economically sustainable – for end-users,” Mr. Atif Rahman, Director and Partner of Danube Properties, says. “Despite the fact that our homes are affordable in price, we have never compromised on the quality and when it comes to quality and facilities – we are known to over-deliver.

“However, we have gone a step ahead in that direction – by initiating smart and sustainable home technologies – to offer a greater value proposition to our customers by making their homes more energy efficient and smart, with the same price.

Danube Properties is one of those few rare realty brands, which have been able to make a mark and set themselves a league apart nationally and globally, despite challenging economic condition, through their strong commitment and strong quality.

The Efficient World Scenario report by IEA highlights the potential for global building energy demand to decline between now and 2040, despite total building floor area growing by a further 60 percent. On average, buildings in 2040 could be nearly 40 percent more energy efficient than today, if efficient technologies are deployed.

Space heating offers over a quarter of the potential energy savings. Water heating efficiency could also improve by 43 percent and improvement in space cooling, which is the fastest growing source of building energy demand, could see air conditioner efficiency double, the report says.

“Johnson Controls is our strategic supplier for Building Solutions and Technology products and this association demonstrates our commitment to environment by delivering high quality and sustainable solutions to our customers,” Atif Rahman says.

“Sustainable development is not a mere slogan. It is part of our system, philosophy and belief. Our partnership with Johnson Controls will ensure that all the developments are in line with our development mantra and vision.

“Home is where life is and we take it very seriously. These initiatives are part of our vision to deliver green, energy efficient, smart and sustainable homes to create happy communities – and falls in line with the vision of Dubai and UAE Governments.

“These initiatives will differentiate men from boys – where Danube will stand out.”
