As one of the event’s key participants, Expo 2020 Dubai offered its volunteers an opportunity to be a part of this year’s Majlis, and play an active role in supporting the nation’s largest gathering for Emirati youth. In addition, Expo 2020 Dubai participated in three sessions at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations, through two panel discussions that focused on the Expo Live University Innovation Programme and Expo 2020 Volunteers, as well as a workshop detailing the Expo School Programme.
All three of these initiatives were aimed at engaging and inspiring young people to help shape a better future, in line with Expo’s theme, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali, Executive Director, Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, said: “We are honourd to have participated in such a large and significant gathering of Emirati youth. Young people are essential to the UAE’s progress and growth as a nation, and they are already playing a fundamental role in our journey towards Expo 2020 Dubai.
“Through initiatives such as the Expo Live University Innovation Programme, Expo 2020 Volunteers and the Expo School Programme, we continue to place youth at the heart of the next World Expo. The Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations has been a valuable platform for us to directly interact with young Emiratis, exploring their personal and professional growth opportunities while learning from their ideas and insight.
“I encourage young people across the UAE to engage with the Expo 2020 Dubai team, and exchange ideas while identifying other ways in which they can get involved in our region’s first World Expo. This is an opportunity for Emirati youth to join us on our exciting journey to 2020, and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”
