DUBAI: Karachians –  a new T10 league team was announced at a press conference in Dubai on 25th of April, 2018, along with Afghan Lions and Northern Warriors. This is the first and only team in the league to be associated with a city’s name. The team, is a tribute to the people of Karachi and is owned by Artistic Properties – a renowned property developer in Dubai.

“We had a lot of pressure to have a regional name like the other teams in the league, but we felt we needed to give something back to our city and we’re doing so in our own little way by naming the team after the people of Karachi.” said Mr. Mohsin Imran, the owner of Karachians during a press conference in Dubai.

T10 League is a professional ten-over format Cricket League launched and owned by T10 Sports Management and approved by the Emirates Cricket Board. It is the first ever internationally ten-over format approved league. The league is in its second year and matches are held in the last annual quarter.

Karachians has joined hands with Brand Stallion, one of the top digital marketing agencies in Pakistan, as its official digital media partner. From their regional office in Dubai, the managing director of Brand Stallion Mr. Ifran Weldon said, “Despite being the financial hub of Pakistan, Karachi has been neglected. We need to rebrand the city, and the best way of doing so is through its favourite sport, cricket.”

The team recently hired Tom Moody, a former Australian first-class cricketer and the former coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team, as its coach.

Players of the new teams will be inducted and announced later in the year.
