Tristar Group shares opportunities in liquid logistics with students from top business school

DUBAI: Twenty post-graduate students from top Indian business school near Mumbai, Dr V. N. Bedekar Institute of Management Studies (VNBRIMS), visited the Tristar Group as part of their educational tour in Dubai to understand how to swiftly navigate through the globalized, multicultural and ever-evolving business landscape.The students were accompanied by Dr. Nitin Joshi and Prof. Kanchan Akshay from VNBRIMS.

They were given an orientation of Tristar Group’s operations in Road Transport, Warehousing and Shipping, as well as the company’s breakthrough block chain technology that is changing the way business is done in the logistics sector.

According Dr Nitin Joshi, Director, VNBRIMS: “As a global city, Dubai is known for its multicultural outlook, successful tourism sector and for providing a friendly business environment that has seen many companies set up their base here. We chose Dubai for our students to get a holistic understanding of working in a multicultural environment and to learn more about business expansion. We are pleased that Tristar’s management team took time out of their busy schedule to meet with the students and give them an overview of the challenges and opportunities in today’s fast changing business environment, especially in the logistics industry.”

Adam Lalani, Tristar’s IT Head, spoke about the impact of technology in creating greater accountability in the supply chain. He was joined by Shivananda Baikady, GM of Road Transport and Warehousing, who had an interactive session which the students enjoyed. Saji Nair, Manager-Marine Service, highlighted the business operations of Tristar’s ship chartering division.

In addition, Arthur Los Banos, Manager-Corporate Communications, explained about Tristar’s commitment to road safety, highlighting the various initiatives that have been undertaken over the years to create greater awareness among truck drivers, senior high school students, transport fleet operators and business leaders about defensive driving.

According to Balaji Nagabhushan, Group Chief Administrative Officer: “Students are the future custodians of every business sector and we are pleased to share the story of Tristar and our commitment to society with this batch of bright young individuals.
