DUBAI: With just two days to go to the Abu Dhabi Tour, UAE Team Emirates paid a visit to Emirates Group Headquarters, where employees were given a chance to meet and mingle with team members, take photos and wish them luck.
Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for Gulf, Middle East and Iran said: “We believe that through our support of UAE Team Emirates we bring the UAE closer to the world stage of cycling. Emirates aims to create more meaningful connections with cycling fans here in our home market and around the world, and we hope that our national team will inspire continued development of the sport in the UAE. We wish them the best of luck for the upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi Tour.”
In February 2017, Emirates announced a four year agreement to become the co-title sponsor of the UAE Cycling Team. The team was renamed UAE Team Emirates. The Emirates brand appears on the front of UAE Team Emirates’ team kits, including cycling jerseys and shorts along with other benefits and rights.
The team brings the UAE and Emirates brand to the international stage as they participate in some of the most prestigious races around the world, including the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta d’Espana.
UAE Team Emirates has strong foundations as a former Italian UCI World Tour team. The team is managed by Italian cycling legend Giuseppe Saronn, and operated by Swiss-based company CGS Cycling.
Emirates’ other cycling sponsorships include the Dubai Tour, an event organized by the Dubai Sports Council.
