KARACHI: It is essential to have industry-academia interactions which will help to impart relevant knowledge and will be sustainable in the changing conditions. Academic institutions seemingly place great importance and value on closer interaction with industry and R&D organizations. At the level of industry participation in technology and resources development while supporting students who qualify on merit at Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC), NUST Karachi Campus.

Upon Rear Admiral invite An interactive meeting was held between, Mr. Samir Mir Shaikh, Chairman Higher Education Science and Technology Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Rear Admiral Imran Ahmad SI(M), Commandant Pakistan Navy Engineering College along with other officers of Pakistan Navy at Pakistan Navy Engineering College, Karachi.

Various development agendas were discussed to strengthen the gap, including building of on campus accommodation facility for NUST Students who quality the stringent selection criteria (2,000 students are selected out of more than 80,000 applicants) at NUST.

National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) is the only university of Pakistan which represents Pakistan among top 500 universities of the world (QS World Ranking) and number one university in Science and Technology of Pakistan (HEC Ranking). NUST Has 22 schools and colleges across the country with student population more than 15,000 who are studying among 120 degree programs which NUST offers. An MoU will soon be signed between NUST And Federation of Pakistan chambers of commerce & Industry that will create a Bridge between Industry and Academia.

Rear Admiral Imran Ahmad SI (M) – Commandant, Commodore Habib ur Rehman SI (M)- Deputy Commandant, Captain Dr. Akbar Ali – Dean Management Information System, Captain Dr Attaullah Memon – Director Research & Development, Commander Dr Aleem Mushtaq – Director Student Affairs and Ms. Sayada Yusrah Shah – University Advancement Officer also present at the meeting.
