World Heart Day observed by MMI Hospital by organizing a walk

KARACHI: World Heart Day is observed world-wide on 29th September 2017 but due to ‘holidays’ on that date Memon Medical Institute Hospital observed World Heart Day recently by organizing a walk, which is perhaps one of the easiest of all the physical activity possible.

This walk which was from Memon Medical Institute Hospital to Safoora Roundabout and then returning back to Memon Medical Institute Hospital was a huge success as it was attended by large number of doctors, students of various schools and colleges, celebrities, socialites, members of press fraternity, members of civil society, staff of Memon Medical Institute Hospital and other distinguished guests. Most of the participants were holding posters and placards which depicted messages about diseases and its possible cures.

Purpose of this was to create awareness among masses about hearts diseases, it’s possible remedies/precautions and best available treatment / facilities that are available to them. At the end of the walk it seemed as the message has gone across well, as most of the participants were informed to some extent.

According to a recent survey, fatality rate due to heart disease has increased from 14% to 19% and best possible way is precaution or in much simpler words don’t let it happen.

Some of the main reason for heart diseases are smoking, unhealthy diet and lack of physical activities and by avoiding smoking, increasing physical activities and opting for a healthy diet are best available precautions for avoiding heart diseases. News Desk
