Karwan-e-Hayat to host Mental Health Awareness Run on August 6

KARACHI: On 6th August 2017 Karwan-e-Hayat (KeH) is organizing a Mental Health Awareness Run with the theme “No Health without Mental Health.”The running event will be held at Seaview, Karachi on the above stated date at 7:00 am.  The participants will run from Burger King to Village restaurant and back, covering a total of 6 Km. The event will conclude with distribution of trophies and medals to the winners of the race.

Participants will include seasoned as well as amateur runners from different sports forums like Run Karachi Run and Speed Stars track and Field Club. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about mental illnesses and Karwan-e-Hayat’s role in treating them.

Karwan-e-Hayat is a non-profit welfare organization that has been providing treatment and rehabilitation services to poor and underprivileged mentally ill patients in Pakistan for the past three decades. Last year KeH treated nearly 55,000 patients at its facilities. These services include consultation, hospitalization, medicines and rehabilitation of the patients. Aside from being pioneers in psychiatric care, KeHis also one of the few organizations who are Shariah compliant, ISO 9001-2015 certified and have registration with the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) for provision of quality psychiatric services.
