KARACHI: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited celebrates the 50th anniversary of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, which has been celebrated annually since 1969. The theme for this year is ‘Bridging the Standardization Gap’. PTCL has gone through massive transformation since its inception and is now focused to provide a digital lifestyle, along with innovative telecom services to customers as well as the businesses in Pakistan.

The company has been serving the nation since 1947 as Pakistan’s backbone for connectivity, in over 2000 cities and towns. To support the nationwide network, the company has tirelessly worked on enhancing its network this year to 100G.

PTCL’s major customer base has been positively impacted by NTP with customer complaints being reduced to 43% in the areas where the exchanges have been upgraded. Through a transformed network, PTCL can provide a faster connection (up to 50mbps) with the improved copper network and even more so with the fiber network (up to 100mbps). PTCL is upgrading its existing copper network to a faster and better fiber network, along with rehabilitation of existing network where required.

For businesses, the organization offers enterprise grade platforms such as Smart Cloud, Tier-3 Certified Data Centers, Managed Services and Satellite Services, all of which have been designed to meet the connectivity needs of businesses within the country and enable them to operate more efficiently.
