KARACHI: The very talented water-colorist, Anum Ashraf, is among the young artists showcasing their work here, at an exhibition at Gallery Full Circle, today. The exhibition continues till 20th May 2019.
Water and Color, as the group show is called, features four works by Anum Ashraf under the titles of Euphoria 1 2 3 (triptych)
The exhibition, an open-for-all event was viewed by media, socialites and art aficionados who could be seen admiring the nature-inspired work on the opening day.
Speaking on the occasion Ashraf said, “I like to experiment with and explore watercolors. I feel its transparency and its layering helps me depict moods, feelings and my inner-self on paper. My paintings for this show are nature-derived and titled Nostalgia, Up there, Reminisces and Glee. These are all states of mind that everyone experiences and goes through some time or the other and which are being revealed in my body of work”.
Anum Ashraf is a Visual artist from Karachi, Pakistan. She graduated from Indus Valley school of Art and Architecture majoring in Painting and miniatures and has been showcasing her paintings since. Anum has exhibited widely at watercolor biennales across the globe, and been part of several exhibitions locally. In 2017 she was part of an artist residency program in Spain. In 2018 she had her first solo exhibition. Anum paints her moods and feelings and what she loves best, to be connected with nature. Her favorite painting mediums are watercolors and oil.
