FORT WORTH: American Airlines has been selected as the 2017 Airline of the Year by Global Traveler — the leading magazine for luxury business and leisure travelers — and its Advisory Board.

“We are so honored to receive this recognition, as it is a direct reflection of the hard work of our team members,” said Alison Taylor, senior vice president – Global Sales and Distribution for American. “We are building an airline people can count on for years to come for their travel needs.”

American also won Global Traveler’s GT Tested Reader Survey Awards — the most respected in the luxury business and leisure travel industry — in the following categories: Best Airline Website, Fastest-Growing Airline – Transpacific and Best Airline for Domestic First Class. In the Global Traveler’s Wines on the Wing Airline Wine Survey, American also won for North American First/Business Class Wines on the Wing, Best North American First/Business Class White Wine and Best North American First/Business Class Red Wine.

Through a commitment to invest more than $3 billion in new customer products and services, American has significantly improved the customer experience. This year, American made investments in new-generation aircraft; enhanced onboard connectivity, entertainment and dining choices; upgraded lounges; and have announced several new routes including: Los Angeles (LAX)–Beijing (PEK), Dallas Fort Worth (DFW)–Amsterdam (AMS) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD)–Barcelona (BCN).

Earlier this year, American was named 2017 Airline of the Year by Air Transport World magazine, the 2017 Harris Poll named American “Full Service Airline” brand of the year and American was awarded Cargo Airline of the Year by Air Cargo News. News Desk
