Its seems that construction industry is booming with too many high rises seen here and there but it lacks key elements like professionalism, quality control and time control, this was stated by Mr. Muhammad Muzammil Mirza, Chief Executive Officer of Urban Constructors (Pvt.) Limited.

During an informal chit-chat session with the team of Biz Today Mr. Muhammad Muzammil Mirza informed very candidly that “he has been associated with construction industry for last 46 years and after graduating from Karachi University with a degree of Bachelor of Engineering (BE) during 1969, joined B.R Herman Mohatta Engineers & Contractors in 1970 which was the best company in Pakistan Engineering industry at that time and Herman & Mohatta like an alma mater too, where he learned the tricks of his trade in best possible way”.

Mr. Muzammil Mirza informed that; “after serving Herman & Mohatta for 10 years moved to National Construction Company of Pakistan (NCC). NCC posted him to Jordan, where NCC was handling 03rd expansion project of their oil refinery in Zarqa”.

According to Mr. Muzammil Mirza; “when I moved back to Pakistan from Jordan, I got an opportunity to work for Hoechst Chemicals Complex and from there to Sandoz Pakistan Limited which later on de-merged to Clariant for chemical businesses and Novartis for pharmaceutical businesses. Serving this sector for 30 years, gained experience with multinational corporate culture and with visits all over the world”.

He further said that; “After serving the pharmaceutical and chemical sector for good 39 years; it was time to move back to professional roots from where I started my professional career and that being the construction sector, he joined Paragon Constructors (Pvt.) Limited for a short stint and then Engineering Kinetics (Pvt.) Limited a company of DDFC group, which was dealing in high magnitude mechanical, civil and steel projects all over the country and abroad”.

After working in the industry for good almost four decades, Mr. Muzammil MIrza decided that the time has come to join an organization which will cater the civil construction and MEP under one umbrella. Hence he joined as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KAAF Engineers (Pvt) Ltd, which is a full service MEP engineering firm serving public sector & private clients across the country and abroad. Hence keeping in view the experience of the top management a new company was introduced as Urban Constructors (Pvt.) Limited (UCPL). Although a new company but supported with the rich experience not only in Civil constructions but also MEP works.

Sole responsibilities of these two companies are;

01) Kaaf Engineers (Pvt.) Limited was to be fully and solely responsible for MEP & HVAC projects. MEP and HVAC is one of the most important part of any project and usually most of the big names in construction business do not pay much attention to this aspect, with ‘Kaaf Engineers’ we are paying close attention to each and every aspect of this side. As every part of this side is important from, mechanical works, electrical works, plumbing works and then HVAC works. ‘Kaaf Engineers’ handles them all very professionally with full commitment.

02) Urban Constructors (Pvt.) Limited to be fully responsible for Civil projects. UCPL was formed with keeping in view the scenario where civil projects lack professionalism and do not meet the timelines. This company plans to focus on High-rise buildings, industrial structures of heavy and medium types industry,like (power plants, cement plants, textile plants, oil refineries, food plants, sugar plants etc,), roads, bridges and steel structures.
